Eaglereach Wilderness Resort
Twelve years ago Eaglereach Wilderness Resort opened with high hopes and three operational lodges near a village only the Hunter locals knew existed. Fast forward to today and you will find a resort which was twice named winner of National Tourism Awards for the Best Superior Accommodation in Australia.
In addition winner of the Best Superior Accommodation of the Decade award at the New South Wales Tourism awards.
The journey has been highlighted by the growth from 3 to 38 lodges, the opening of Treehops restaurant in 1995, the winning of regional and state tourism awards in 1996, and the completion of Aloota, an integrated conference & function centre in 1999. Opening the Observatory Deck in 2001 and the new all resort room Jindalee complex in 2002. The newest addition is our "Lowanna Wellbeing Centre", offering a unique experience in total mind, body & soul revitalisation.
Winning the fiercely contested Superior Accommodation category in the National Tourism Awards showed that with an extraordinary location, a new generation product which reflects the Australian character, and a core of key staff who are committed to the property, it is possible to break away from the established pack and set new standards without the usual international corporate or chain structure.
To justify this growth, each core market has been given specific attention under the brand name Eaglereach. The corporate market, the short breaks-indulgence market, the early retirees, families, and the adventurers. Each has their own requirements, which must be catered for, without compromising the expectations or the comfort of other guests. This is rare and can only happen when you have a 1000 acre or 4 square kilometre private property where everyone can enjoy his or her own space. This is demonstrated in the many catering options including an a la carte restaurant, a canopy level deck for dining under the stars, a Char-grill pavilion for snacks and picnic baskets, even the total spoil is possible with a chef catering for you in the privacy of your own lodge.
One of most satisfying aspects of the Eaglereach success has been the universal appeal of a "wilderness resort" to both domestic and international visitors alike, in what was previously thought of as a niche market for those adventurers looking for an experience where the standard of accommodation, food and beverage was an after thought. So it is possible to combine a nature based experience with the best superior accommodation in Australia.
